Young Crazy released the new official video for “Suburban Kid” earlier this week. The video, directed by Jordan Dunman, shows the rising rap artist contemplating his life, grief, loss, and ascent to success, all of which are feelings he is all too acquainted with. Moye and Beatman’s production of the touching tune lays the groundwork for future releases from YC.

The skittering beat provides a distinctive shock to the music as Young Crazy scurries through the lyrics with amazing charisma. Between the loud and straight lyrics, he inserts a pleasant tune, saying, “I’m a suburban child, black track, suburban kid / Pull up swerving in it.” The accompanying graphic shows him and his gang riding about on motorcycles in the suburbs.

Interstate 110, Young Crazy’s most recent album, was well-received by listeners and reviewers alike. It has been streamed more than a million times to date. Recent video releases for “BLIT” and “Man Down Freestyle” by Crazy have amassed almost 100,000 views amongst them. In the meanwhile, the rapper rose to prominence thanks to tracks like “Shell Jumping” featuring Icewear Vezzo and “Yuh Bastard!” He even had an appearance in Spotify’s FREQUENCY ad campaign this past year.

Elsewhere in music, Larry June drops off his latest album Spaceships on the Blade with features from Curren$y, 2 Chainz, and more.
