Valencia Grace is back with a brand new track called “There I Said It,” and to celebrate the release, she released a video for a live piano rendition of the song that puts the focus squarely on her evocative vocals.
Regarding the song, the singer says, “This song is one of the most conversational and realistic songs I’ve ever written. It hurts every time I sing it because of that but it means that you can really feel the passion in the lyrics, so more people resonate with it.”
She continues, “I gave a lot of myself to this person. My time, my energy. I even knew we would reach a dead end but for some reason, I just didn’t care. I told myself it would be worth it, worth suffering. It would tell a more exciting story, right? I guess I must’ve been in love. That’s what the song is about.”
Fans can also see Valencia performing the song live this year in the UK and Europe, as she is touring as renforshort‘s support act. The tour will visit major cities such as Paris, London, Berlin, Manchester, and Glasgow over the course of seven dates.
Valencia uses songwriting as a kind of therapy and release, but it’s evident that she also wants to speak out for other women via her art. Simply by the way she stands and moves, you can tell that she intends to create an impression. This couldn’t be any more true with “There I Said It.” Listen to Valencia Grace’s latest record below.
