UGG is making sure it’s doing everything it can to secure a clean future with climate change being a hot subject in the fashion industry. The company maintains its dedication to seeking out and utilizing superior materials for its AW ’22 range. The “Plant Power” collection’s styles all employ materials derived from plants or recycled materials and work to promote a sustainable future.
A green makeover is being given to The Fluff Yeah Fuzz Sugar sandal. Along with the Fuzz Sugar Clog, Fuzz Sugar Slide, and Fuzz Sugar Cross slide, the Fluff Yeah Fuzz Sugar is made of low-impact materials. These materials are carbon-neutral and emit little emissions. Each style’s soft upper is constructed of TENCEL Lyocell from ethically sourced trees, while the midsole is made of renewable sugarcane.
Elsewhere, the sustainability-focused capsule is continued by the ReFelt Tasman and ReFelt Nuemel. These designs preserve the brand’s legacy while reducing the reliance on virgin materials. Both silhouettes’ uppers are made entirely of recycled plastic and polyester fiber felt. These designs include the brand’s patented SugarSole outsole and a TENCEL Lyocell inner, much like the other shoes in the range.
UGG Senior Director of Brand Purpose Nick Ericsson shares in a statement, “At UGG, we are committed to our journey toward a more regenerative world. Our latest Plant Power Collection reaffirms this ongoing commitment, as we reimagine our iconic styles and introduce new silhouettes that include plant-based and bio-based low emitting materials with offsets for the small number of emissions they create-making the materials carbon-neutral.”
Available now at UGG stores and select retailers around the country are several pieces from the Autumn/Winter 2022 Plant Power Collection. The footwear is also available on the brand’s website.
