Today, Swedish pop singer-songwriter Tove Styrke unveils her latest single “Hardcore.” The dramatic song arrives alongside the announcement of her forthcoming fourth studio album, HARD, slated to release on June 3rd.
“‘Hardcore’ is definitely one of my favorite tracks on the album. It’s about wanting someone hardcore. I took the term from gaming; if you die you die but it’s all in,” Tove shares. She adds, “I also wanted to make the track sound drunk, like when you’re lost in a person. That’s why we made the tempo-shifts before each chorus. The production is so good on this one, it blows my mind.”
“Hardcore” is the latest in a string of singles from Tove Styrke, following previous records such as “Show Me Love,” “Start Walking” and “Mood Swings.” This latest record is co-written by Elvira Anderfjärd (Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran) and Jakob Jerlström (Tove Lo, Lorde) as the songstress yearns for love. Speaking on the album, she shares, “It’s been in the making for years and I’ve decided it’s time to finish it up now and release it. Life, feelings, bodies. Everything’s hard. I can’t wait to show you this music!”
