Today, R&B singer Tink releases her eagerly-awaited new album Pillow Talk. Multi-platinum producer Hitmaka oversaw the album’s creation, and it boasts star-studded guest appearances from the likes of 2 Chainz, Toosii, Fabolous, G Herbo, Muni Long, and several more.

This 16-track album is the musician’s most open and vulnerable to date, showcasing her potential realized and thriving like never before. Her R&B skills are placed on full display across many standout cuts that showcase her abilities in all areas from production to arrangements to features to his beautiful poetry and the subtle transitions between being in love and loving oneself.

“’Goofy’ is one of the boldest songs I ever cut… I’m speaking on how crazy men can make us, especially when you’re tied to a person you love. We’ve all been crazy in love before, so I know women will relate,” Tink explains when talking about “Goofy.” In regard to pre-release single “Cater,” she adds, “Making ‘Cater’ was real organic. I sent Hitmaka a list of songs that I wanted to reference on my next album. ‘Cater 2 U’ by Destiny’s Child has always been a favorite of mine. We went to the studio, and I recorded my verse over just the keys. Then an hour later Hitmaka came in and added the drums and beat around it.”

Tink’s comfort with a broad variety of subject matter gives Pillow Talk a rich sense of self-exploration and personal growth. It ranges from the anxiety of being apart on “Cum’n 2” to the comfort of being with someone you care about deeply in “25 Reasons Interlude,” when she enumerates all the reasons she is head over heels in love with her lover. Tink closes her story by saying she prefers herself over the partners who’ve wasted her time on “I Choose Me,” which explores the many facets of romantic love.

This new album serves as a culmination and acknowledgment of her many achievements and acclaims throughout the years. The project’s first track, “Cater” featuring 2 Chainz, is now a Top 40 smash hit. The singer-songwriter’s “Cut it Out,” from her album 2020 Hopeless Romantic, was certified gold in June, and Empire’s founder Ghazi presented her with a plaque commemorating the achievement last week on the Breakfast Club on Power 105.1 FM. Whether a longtime fan or recently introduced to Tink’s music, the musician is getting her much-deserved praise and quickly becoming a staple in the R&B genre.
