Swedish pop star Tove Styrke returned today with her fourth studio album HARD. The LP arrives four years after her 2018 album Sway and was preceded by four pre-release singles: “YouYouYou,” “Hardcore,” “Start Walking,” and “Show Me Love.”

In addition to the previous singles and videos she unloaded in the months leading up to the release, there are six new songs that appear on the project. Longtime fans of the musician will enjoy songs like “Lies” and “Millenial Blues” while other records such as “24H” and “Bruises” serve as standout cuts. “Free,” which Tove teased weeks prior, also appears on the album.

Speaking on the release, Styrke shares, “It’s been in the making for years and I’ve decided it’s time to finish it up now and release it. Life, feelings, bodies. Everything’s hard. I can’t wait to show you this music!” Production is handled by the likes of Elof Loelv, ELVIRA, LOSTBOY, Oscar Scheller, and more, whilst songwriters Ally Ahern, BØRNS, Caroline Ailin, and Sophia Somajo also lend a hand in the album’s release.

She adds, “With this album, I really pushed myself to stray from the pop formula and get as creative as possible, while also making something that’s unapologetically fun and joyous. It’s very much all over the place, which is what I envisioned from the beginning. To me, it feels so alive.”
