For our first installment of Stamped, UK music publicist Giovanna Mae chooses her top picks for artists to watch in 2021. Graduating from Southampton Solent University in 2015, Giovanna has risen above the ranks, taking on roles across public relations and journalism. In recent years, she’s worked with prominent talents such as Fivio Foreign, 24KGoldn, Saint Jhn, and a plethora of others. Her work is admired by many but most importantly, Giovanna Mae leaves a lasting impact on all of her clients and fellow creatives.
From acts like V9 to Lia Kloud, here are Giovanna Mae’s top picks for rising musicians to keep an eye out for throughout the year. Check them out below.
“This guy is next up; when I came across his song ‘Ting Tun Up’ I was like wow. His sound is so fitting for the UK scene yet he’s not from there, you can definitely hear the influences from his Caribbean roots as well as from where he’s at in Montreal. He’s def on my list for one to watch this year, plus the unreleased music I’ve heard is fire!”
“This guy right here because one: he has impeccable taste when it comes to selecting beats. Two: he’s my go-to artist when I want to listen to crud on a wavey beat and three: I don’t even need to talk too much just go on his Spotify it’s full of heat.”
“Ottawa has a lot of hidden gems and Lia Kloud is one of them. She’s unapologetically herself and I love that about her I’m just waiting for the world to take her in because she’s hard!”
“I love the fact that Billy Billions can switch it up, we love versatility over here. I honestly think Billy is in his baguette when he’s doing the wave music though just go listen to V9 featuring Billy Billions ‘Gasoline’ and come back to me.”
“I heard her track ‘Pourin’ late last year and I instantly wanted to hear more her voice is smooth. Ultimate R&B vibes with a 90s touch and she’s only got like two songs out so just like me y’all gone have to keep your eyes on her if you like what you hear.”
