Lauded singer-songwriter Sasha Alex Sloan has just released the music video for “Thank You,” a standout cut off of her highly acclaimed second album, I Blame The World.

The video, directed by David Od, completely reverses the track’s romantic undertones by celebrating the comfort and companionship we obtain from our pets. The amusing and sweet movie is a “thank you” to the furry companions who are always there for us and features at-home interviews with individuals and their pets, such as Sasha and her two dogs, Frida and Dory.

The music video for “Thank You” is the latest from her new album, the follow-up to her debut, Only Child, which was released in 2020. This album, which Sasha worked on for two years, has eleven tracks and is a reflection of her characteristic blend of cutting humor and introspective lyrics with universally felt anguish and indifference. It ushers in a daring new age of musicianship from Sasha. It’s both self-aware and melancholy in its approach, as seen by tracks like “I Blame The World,” “Adult,” and “WTF,” the album’s lead single.

Along with Jessie Murph and Slimdan, Sasha Alex Sloan is currently performing on the North American leg of her I Blame The World Tour. Later this autumn, she will go overseas for a series of shows in Europe. In the meantime, watch “Thank You” below.
