R&B phenomenon Samaria has released a new version of “Somebody Else,” a rendition of The 1975’s iconic synth-pop love tune. The vocalist gives the classic a fresh lease of life by giving it an R&B makeover that transports it to the present day.

“I first heard ‘Somebody Else’ on a friend’s playlist. We were driving from Paia to Kihei on Maui with the windows down and it felt like a dream. The day before hearing it, I had sporadically bought a plane ticket to go to an island in hopes it would make me feel better after a breakup,” the musician shares. She continues, “The first line of the song had me ready to run it back without even hearing the rest. I decided to cover it when I realized it had been 3 weeks since I first listened to it and I was still singing it in the shower.”

“Somebody Else” arrives as Samaria’s first official release of 2022, and from the looks of it, the wait was well worth it as the singer introduces fans to a different side of her artist. She closed off last year with the release of her stunning single “Stuck” and prior to that, caught ears with the debut of “Out The Way.”
