“Impalas & Hydraulics” is the name of the latest song release from Carson, CA artist REASON and fellow Southern California rapper The Game.
Despite Reason’s unwavering honesty, his rhyme schemes are meticulously constructed with a purpose, and this single once again demonstrates his poetic mastery. There is a distinct G-funk vibe to the synth and percussion sounds while he adds a slight whistle to his deft rhyme patterns, making this a really West Coast-influenced rap album.
In the midst of working on his long-awaited second album, Reason is sounding more vibrant than he has in years. After “Barely Miss,” which was directed by Jazz Carter and Carlos Acosta and produced by Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, comes “Impalas & Hydraulics.” COLORSxSTUDIOS recently sat down with the Carson rapper while he works on his future project.
