Serving as his first single since 2021’s Hall of Fame 2.0, Polo G joins forces with 808 Mafia producer Southside for the release of their new single “Distraction.” Joined by an accompanying music video, the Chicago rapper taps personality and YouTuber Kai Cenat for the visual effort.
“Distraction” arrives ahead of Polo’s joint project with Southside, slated to release later this year. The release was announced last year after his deluxe debut album and is reportedly titled NorthSide. In the chorus, he raps, “Fiend for that Ecstasy, couldn’t keep from relapsing / Bring out the best of me, it be a distraction, uh.” Elsewhere in the record, the rapper makes references to his birthplace, late friend B-Money, and the infamous crate challenge which took over social media this past year.
Earlier this year, Polo G appeared on NEIKED, Mae Muller, & J Balvin’s “Better Days,” PGF Nuk’s “Waddup” remix, Coi Leray‘s “Paranoid,” and Fivio Foreign‘s “Changed On Me” alongside Vory back in April. As he prepares for his forthcoming full-length project, watch the music video for “Distraction” below.
