Lil Baby and Travis Scott join NAV for the first track “Never Sleep” from his forthcoming fourth studio album Demons Protected by Angels.
“Got two rings and they forty a piece, gotta ride with a .40 at least / You invite her, she leavin’ with me, what you pushin’? There’s levels to P (Uh),” NAV raps on his verse, referencing Gunna’s surefire hit song “Pushin P” from earlier this year. The nods to past records and events continue, “Ever since ‘Run It Up,’ I got my money up, I keep all three of my bitches on fleek / Always stay geeked, if I ran into vampires, they would get high off the shit that I bleed.”
The Canadian rapper-producer has already worked with Scott and Lil Baby on several projects. For his Emergency Tsunami mixtape, he teamed up with the latter on “Don’t Need Friends,” which assisted in propelling the project into popularity. He also appeared on Lil Baby and Gunna’s Drip Harder project, on the song “Off White VLONE,” which also features Lil Durk.
With regard to Scott, in 2018, the Houston rapper was recruited by NAV to appear on “Champion” off his Reckless mixtape. The pair also united on their hit song “Yosemite” from Astroworld, and the former got his big break on La Flame’s “Beibs In The Trap” from Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight. Their extensive history is further cemented with this current record.
A month ago, the multifaceted musician revealed that he will be releasing his new album, titled Demons Protected By Angels, and confirmed that something special would be released on July 29. We now know it’s the album’s lead song, “Never Sleep,” which can be streamed below.
