Marshall Columbia Debuts Plush Moonflower Bag

Marshall Columbia, the eponymous label founded by the Brooklyn designer in 2020, recently unveiled its third collection. The range introduces classic styles in new colorways, menswear, and a new bag silhouette dubbed The Moonflower Bag, out now.

The shoulder bag arrives in four colorways: “Royal Blue,” pink “Fuchsia,” neon green “Lime,” and “Black.” The iteration measures 17 inches in length and 14 inches in height, making it a statement-making bag that can hold most laptops and miscellaneous items. It comes detailed with a zipper closure, adjustable plush crossbody strap, and knotted shoulder strap.

“I always try to pull from early memories as my initial reference point for a collection. And with my first menswear collection, I’ve been thinking a lot back to when the only thing me and my neighborhood friends would do was skate. There was a skatepark right next to my house so it was the obvious thing to do growing up in the suburbs of Colorado,” the designer states. He adds, Even when we weren’t at the skatepark we were either playing Tony Hawk’s Underground or staying up all night watching skate videos on YouTube. But for me growing up gay in this environment was also very hard and triggering.”

Marshall Columbia continues, “Skate culture was very toxic and homophobic which is a big reason I stopped skating after junior high. So in this collection, I want to create an environment that I wish I had growing up. What would it look like if the skatepark was an inclusive place?”

Retailing at $690 USD, the Moonflower Shoulder Bag is now available for purchase via Marshall Columbia’s website. Check out the label’s Collection 3 lookbook with a plethora of standout garments.
