Marimekko Releases New Sustainable Swimwear Capsule

Published by Malcolm Trapp

Finnish lifestyle design brand Marimekko introduces its first swimwear collection, comprised of two one-piece styles as well as two bikini styles, all made of ECONYL® fiber which is recycled nylon waste.

The circularity starts by rescuing waste, like fishing nets, fabric scraps, carpet flooring, and industrial plastic from all over the world. The waste is then sorted and cleaned to recover all of the nylon possible. Furthermore, the nylon waste is recycled back to its original purity through a regeneration and purification process. ECONYL® recycled nylon is processed into yarns and polymers for the fashion and interior industries, and it has the potential to be recycled infinitely, without losing its quality.

Priced between $70 and $185 USD, the swimwear capsule is now available for purchase via the Marimekko website. Check out the images below.
