Marcos G delivers an upbeat new single “Cold Feet,” produced by Willian Van Zandt, also accompanied by a vibrant visual. Wrapped entirely in pop’s traditional clean hooks, Marcos G’s signature style is injected into the track with his laidback and personable approach to his left-of-center sound.
Originally written in 2018 on a trip to LA with his sister Ellie, who is also a featured vocalist on the track, Marcos G explains that the single is rooted in the stresses that come with being in your twenty-somethings and facing the pressures of adulthood while still holding tight to your youth and capricious lifestyle. Marcos teases with just enough optimism to admit “maybe one day I could be the one,” but “not today.”
Speaking on the song, he shared, “The song is a fun poke at the idea of getting cold feet in a relationship. Being scared of commitment and settling is a big fear so to write a pretty, fun song about this scary feeling was great. It’s written from both male and female perspectives in this scenario, almost like a back and forth of feelings about how you’d feel if you had or if your partner got cold feet.”
