After teasing the song on TikTok, Lyn Lapid is back with her latest single “I Guess That Was Goodbye.” The new song, which is produced by Wendy Wang, is inspired by the heartache that results in not being able to say goodbye to a special person.
Speaking on the single, Lyn shares, “We all have that one person who we didn’t get enough time with before they left. For me, that person was multiple people: my old high school friends. Last August when I was doing writing sessions in LA, my friends were all back home in Maryland saying goodbye to each other before they moved away for college.” She continues, “I never got to say goodbye to them in person because I was away, and when I returned to Maryland, they were all gone. I feel like a lot of people can relate to the bittersweet feeling of an abrupt goodbye.”
“I Guess That Was Goodbye” arrives months removed from Lyn Lapid’s 2021 single “In My Mind,” which subsequently peaked at #8 on Spotify’s Global Viral 50 Chart, #6 on Spotify’s US Viral 50 Chart, and #4 on TikTok’s US Top Tracks. Listen to the new track below.
