Lourdiz Shares JMP-Directed Video For “Somersault”
Mexican-American vocalist and songwriter Lourdiz follows up her well-received collaborations with Lil Gotit and Jon Z with a brand new visual. Titled “Somersault,” the music video for the bass-heavy bop was directed by JMP, who’s collaborated with many popular acts like Roddy Rich and 6LACK. “Somersault” finds the teenage talent sharing the screen with family and local community members as she cruises the city carefree.
Speaking about the new clip, Lourdiz states “Growing up in the hood, I learned early to keep my eyes wide open and my mouth shut: no habla inglés. When I wrote ‘Somersault’, the first line ‘can’t keep my eyes closed’ speaks to that and my present journey living in LA now. I have to be sharp all the time to figure out my surroundings and what’s my next move.”
