On the heels of her recently released EP, singer-songwriter Lou Ridley braces for a cold winter with her powerful cover of Soul icon Etta James’s hit track “At Last.” The surprise share to her Instagram page stamps the first musical performance of the year ahead of her upcoming Probably Too Intimate mini-tour.

Ridley pays tribute to the late singer’s influence stating “Etta James “At Last” has always been one of my favorite songs. Etta and Billie helped shape my appreciation for singing from a place of pain. These women and many others overcame extreme adversity and you can hear it in the way they sing.” Also stating that the cover contains “no tune, no pre-recording, and no cheating.”

Last month, Lou Ridley released her critically-acclaimed project Angel/Outlaw, which boasts standout cuts including “Hellfire” and “Dirt” amongst others. Watch her cover of Etta Jame’s “At Last” below.
