Today, singer-songwriter Lizzy McAlpine unveils her new single and video “all my ghost” alongside the announcement of her forthcoming album, five seconds flat, which is slated to drop April 8. Directed by Gus Black, the three-minute cut gives us a taste of what’s to come.
five seconds flat signals a bold new and frankly exciting direction for Lizzy McAlpine, using her evocative lyrics to create a story arc about heartbreak. The new music finds her venturing into her own as an artist, building on her past while looking forward the future. “I want to give my fans something different with each record, because I’m different with each record,” notes McAlpine. “I want to always be growing and moving forward as an artist”.
Recorded in Oregon and Los Angeles, the 14-track offering boasts features from Finneas, Jacob Collier, Ben Kessler, and Laura Elliot. Produced is handled by the likes of Philip Etherington and Ehren Ebbage, with a bit of additional production elsewhere. From previously-released records to McAlpine stepping deeper into her artistic prowess, five seconds flat is shaping to be some of the musician’s greatest music thus far.
