South London rapper Ms Banks shares her new EP, Bank Statement, today. The 9-track project features Tion Wayne, Eight9FLY, and Naira Marley while production is handled by the likes of Ebenezer, JD. Reid, and Rexxie among others.
The EP is supported by a number of pre-release singles, including “Party,” which accumulated 2.7 million views on YouTube since it was released back in November. Meanwhile, the Tione Wayne-assisted song “Typa Way” garnered over 1.1 million views on the platform. In the weeks leading up to the full-length release, Banks also shared her song and accompanying video for “Bounce,” which builds on the recurring themes of the project.
Bank Statement serves as a follow-up to 2019’s The Coldest Winter Ever, Pt. 2, the second installment of its series. In contrast to this current project, which leans more into R&B and Afroswing, the mixtape was applauded for songs like “Snack” featuring Kida Kudz and “Rich Bitch” to name a few tracks. Since then, the rapper has unloaded loose singles such as “NOVIKOV” and “Go Low” in addition to several highly-acclaimed freestyles.
In promotion of the project, Ms Banks will embark on a 12-stop tour this summer. It will kick off on August 1st in Germany and hit major markets like London for Wireless Fest, Portugal for Rolling Loud, Switzerland for Openair Festival, and several more. After performing at Sundown Festival on September 9th, she’ll bring the tour run to a close on the 17th in Bristol.
