Announced just hours prior to its release, Beyoncé preps her forthcoming seventh studio album RENAISSANCE with the disco-filled track “BREAK MY SOUL.”
Signaling her much-awaited return, Queen Bey sings, “I’ma let down my hair ’cause I lost my mind / Bey is back and I’m sleeping real good at night.” The record, which is produced by The-Dream, Tricky Stewart, and the artist herself, samples Robin S.’s 1990 dance hit, “Show Me Love,” whilst Big Freedia can be heard on both the intro and outro.
RENAISSANCE is slated to drop next month, straying away from the sound that fans have come to love Beyoncé for over the past decades. Instead, the album will lean more into dance-inspired tracks as “BREAK MY SOUL” further cements. The album will contain 16 tracks, billed as a multi-part release as noted by “Act 1.”
Listen to “BREAK MY SOUL” and stream RENAISSANCE on July 29th.
