Latto Taps 21 Savage For New Song “Wheelie”

Coming off the heels of her triumphant single “Big Energy,” Atlanta-bred rapper Latto releases her new song and video “Wheelie” featuring 21 Savage. Teased earlier this week, the record is slated to arrive ahead of her forthcoming second studio album, yet to be announced.

Produced by Hollywood Cole (Lil Wayne, Isaiah Rashad, G Herbo), “Wheelie” samples $uicideboy$ and Ramirez’s 2016 song “Grey Magic.” This collaboration marks the second among Latto and 21 Savage with the two previously working together on “Pull Up” from her 2020 debut album Queen of Da Souf.

“Slap on my cat, bet this nigga met his match (Yeah) / Take his phone ‘fore I throw it back, nigga, this ain’t that (Fuck),” she raps on the record. To match her raunchy and slick delivery, 21 comes in on the latter verse rapping, “Bad bitches I got several (21) / She eat the dick like it’s edible (On God).”

“Wheelie” comes months removed from last year’s major hit record “Big Energy,” which flips Mariah Carey’s “Fantasy.” The song debuted at #88 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the charting week ending November 6, 2021. This week, it peaked at #17 signaling another win for the Atlanta rapper. Although pure fan speculation, Nicki Minaj is reportedly supposed to end up on the remix which would be huge for the artist.
