Breakout Atlanta rapper Latto sees her second LIFT performance, “Sunshine,” premiered on Vevo today. The track is from her highly praised sophomore album 777, which was released in March of this year on RCA Records.
Vevo and Latto worked closely together to create a world where change is the norm. The transformation from blossom to full bloom served as inspiration. While “Stepper” was a down-and-dirty set, “Sunshine” allowed the musician to break free and blossom. Dressed in all-pale-yellow, she strolls through a field of sunflowers, a gorgeous, lyrical ode to her development as an artist and a tribute to her beginnings.
Latto’s “Sunshine” is the follow-up to his “Stepper” performance on Vevo LIFT. Vevo has already collaborated with the 2018 BET “Best New Artist” winner on Ctrl performances of 777‘s “Wheelie” and “Trust No Bitch,” as well as a Ctrl At Home performance of “Youngest N Richest” off of her previously released 2020 album, Queen of Da Souf.
Vevo LIFT aside, Latto also released the music video for “It’s Givin” at the top of September. The video, created by Chandler Lass, has cameos by artists such as Ella Mai, Flo Milli, Chlöe Bailey, Halle Bailey, Tiffany Pollack, and Angela Simmons. It’s amassed roughly 2 million views on YouTube, serving as yet another surefire hit in the rapper’s catalog.
