Listen To King Von’s Posthumous Song “Don’t Play That” Featuring 21 Savage

Chicago rapper King Von unfortunately passed away from a gunshot wound in late 2020. While the O’Block rapper is no longer here, his catalog lives on with the release of his new single “I Don’t Play That” featuring 21 Savage. Initially teased a month before the rapper’s passing via Instagram, the song had initially featured Memphis rapper Key Glock although he was eventually taken off in favor of 21.

Produced by Kid Hazel (Coi Leray, Young Nudy, Lil Baby), “I Don’t Play That” is a more auspicious record in comparison to previous releases as Von playfully sends shots at his detractors and raps about his day-to-day life. “I caught that girl playin’ with my Glock / She askin’ me what is Tooka? / Just know that we smoke him a lot,” he raps, dissing late Gangster Disciple Tooka. 21 Savage comes through on the latter verse, lacing the song with witty punchlines and memorable rap lyrics.

“I Don’t Play That” is slated to appear on King Von’s first posthumous album, which is rumored to be titled What It Means To Be King. Both the lead single and album arrive via EMPIRE Distribution and according to Von’s manager 100K Track, the full-length project might come out sometime this month. In the meantime, listen to “I Don’t Play That” below.
