Over the weekend, Def Jam signee and rising music starlet Kidd Kenn dropped off his eagerly-awaited project GROWN.
The EP is made up of 7 tracks including “Want Not a Need” featuring Atlanta-based rapper Baby Tate. The latter of which is an anthem reminding listeners that they possess everything they need and any significant other that just can’t get it right is a want and not a need. As Kenn puts it, “this is a song to remind the girls these are wants—not needs. You never need anything or anybody.”
GROWN also features pre-release and lead single “Body,” which was released towards the tail-end of May. We interviewed Kenn on the heels of Pride Month and he shared that the record was made “so people could feel good about their body, any color any shape, any size. It’s your body!” Meanwhile, other features on the project are former collaborator Delli Boe and Erica Banks.
