Khalid has unveiled the music video for his latest track “Satellite.” The shimmering future visual designed by Levi Turner is brought to life by his ethereal voice in this upbeat pop tune.
“I see you swimmin’ through this open sky / I rest my head upon these dandelions / The stars are envious of you tonight,” he croons in the record’s opening verse. Elsewhere, Khalid sings, “La-da-da, we’re walkin’ on a line / A line that led me straight, straight, straight to you / You’re like a satellite, crossin’ through my mind.”
Khalid marked the fifth anniversary of his 4x platinum GRAMMY-nominated first album American Teen with the release of “Last Call” earlier this year. After the 6-times-platinum success of “SILENCE,” the musician and Marshmello teamed up again to create their latest single “Numb,” which did incredibly well across streaming platforms.
Speaking on the record, the singer-songwriter says, “’Satellite’ is a visual portrait of my growth as a human being and the self-love journey I have experienced in my life.” All of these records seemingly tease the release of his forthcoming album, which is slated to release either later this year or early next.
