Kevin Holliday Shares New Visual “Expensive Taste”
Brooklyn phenomenon Kevin Holliday unveils his latest release “Expensive Taste” alongside an accompanying lyric video. Produced by Chasen Smith, the upbeat track sees the independent artist channel everything that made the 80s iconic through a contemporary lens.
“‘Expensive Taste’ is about what you get when you mix money and lust,” Holliday shares. “The track is written from two perspectives. On one hand, trying to impress someone with material things, and going down a wormhole that only gets bigger. On the other hand, getting exactly what you want out of a situation, even if that means hurting someone else’s feelings.”
Last year, he released his critically-acclaimed EP Omni, a six-track compilation of songs that put his knack for genre-blending on full display. Songs like “Tennis Courts” and “Regrets” stand out as fan favorites that further laminate his capability to shift music into a form of artistic expression. With “Expensive Taste” being his first single of the new year, it’s apparent that Kevin Holliday is aiming for both bigger and better as his fanbase and catalog grow immensely.
