Coming off the heels of her feature run in 2021, Kaash Paige is back with her first official single since her 2020 debut album Teenage Fever. “Girlfriend” arrives accompanied by a music video that sees the signer courting her respective lover with her honey-hued vocals and charisma.
On the song’s opening verse, Kaash sings, “Say she want a superstar, that party extra hard (Extra hard) / Black SUV, pull up in a fancy car / And I’m in a spaceship, bae, let’s go to Mars (Mars).” Later in the record, the singer makes a reference to Alicia Keys, singing “Bad bitches and they smokin’ all the Reefa / Where the keys at? Talkin’ no Alicia / Where the freaks at dancing by the speakers?”
This past year, Kaash Paige appeared on a handful of records including Tinashe‘s “Angels,” 24kGoldn’s “Butterflies,” RAY BLK’s “MIA,” and Moneybagg Yo’s “Memphganistan” amongst several others. Her 2020 album Teenage Fever turns two years old later this year with songs like “London” and “Jaded” being standout cuts from the project. The 13-song offering boasts features from Don Toliver, 42 Dugg, SSGKobe, Isaiah Rashad, and K CAMP. Hopefully “Girlfriend” signals a new chapter in her career with plenty more music to come.
