Justine Skye Returns With New Single “What A Lie”

Today, singer Justine Skye breaks her brief hiatus with the release of her new single “What A Lie.” Teased earlier this week, the song sees the songstress talking about a former lover, presumably Giveon, whom reportedly cheated on her.

Upon announcing the song earlier this week, Justine’s ex-boyfriend Giveon also announced his song with a similar title, “Lie Again.” Twitter users were quick to put two and two together, speculating that Giveon’s song was about the singer. However, she was quick to shut those rumors down, calling it a “weak ass song” via Twitter.

“Could’ve save my time, should’ve taken my space / That’s what needed my attention, not your fuckin’ face,” she sings. Elsewhere, she continues “Wish I read between the lines, you were readin’ me / Such an actor, what you were after was the industry.”

“What A Lie” serves as an official follow-up to Justine Skye’s sophomore album Space and Time, which was released in June of 2021. The 11-song project, which boasts features from Timbaland, Rema, and Justin Timberlake, featured tracks like “Intruded,” “In My Bag,” and “Twisted Fantasy.” Hopefully, this project welcomes a new chapter for the singer and signals her return to music after a brief hiatus.
