Jamaican-born singer and songwriter Jada Kingdom serves up her debut EP, New Motion. The project is joined by pre-release singles “Last Night” and “Dickmatized” as well as two never-heard-before songs.
Jada’s storytelling takes center stage on the EP. For as bright as the island-inflected production may be, her lyrics prove just as bold. She opens up without fear about trauma, triumphs, love, femininity, and everything on her mind in a subtle fashion, slipping these truths in between bouncy grooves and head-nodding hooks.
“My new EP New Motion reveals raw, uncut feelings – it expresses my desire to intentionally move forward always regardless of the trials and tribulations I’ve faced,” Jada shares in regard to the new EP. “It’s about never forgetting to be true to myself while also having fun and creating a safe space for people who are going through similar situations.”
Through these four songs, Jada Kingdom asserts herself as a powerhouse with a microphone and pen. Listen to New Motion below.
