Queensbridge songstress ilham inks a promising record deal with Def Jam Recordings. To celebrate the announcement, she unveils her latest single “gang signs.” Accompanied by a visual, the Lauren Dunn-directed music video explores the uncertainty in a relationship when lovers are hesitant to show their emotions outwardly.

“’gang signs’ is about loving someone, wanting to ride or die for someone, wanting to fully be immersed in someone’s world, but then also having a protective wall that doesn’t allow the both of you to fully give in,“ the singer-songwriter shares.

Currently, ilham is preparing to put out her 2022 project which will showcase a new side of her artistry. It serves as a follow-up to 2019’s fan-favorite EP With Time, which garnered a lot of attention. In the meantime, watch “gang signs” below.
