Hayley Kiyoko‘s second album, PANORAMA, was released today. The album’s cover art and release date were revealed on her social media accounts in May, along with the album’s release date.

“finding my friends,” the album’s first song, was released in April of 2021.  Since then, the song has received over 1 million views on YouTube and 4 million Spotify streams. “chance” and “for the girls” were the other two songs from the album, with the latter receiving over 2.6 million views on the platform. She also unveiled the stellar track “deep in the woods” weeks ahead of its full-length release.

“I finished writing it a little over a year ago, so I’ve had the album to listen to, and utilize for comfort and support as we’ve navigated these hard times these past couple of years,” she told Consequence of Sound earlier this week. “It’s definitely been a different relationship with my sophomore album, and I’m just really proud of where this album has landed. I feel very confident and sure of my music and I feel like that comes through with this album.”

The 12 songs on the album are a mix of polished pop, lyrics about failed romances, and tales of her aspirations for her budding career. It serves as a follow-up to her 2018 debut album, Expectations, and her EP, I’m Too Sensitive for This Shit, which was released in 2020. There is little doubt Kiyoko achieved her aim of self-reflection while embracing her artistic talent throughout the album. We’ve never seen her this real before, thus it’s likely fans will be pleased with songs like “luna,” “flicker,” and “sos” among others.
