Ethereal singer-songwriter Frex returns with her tender new single “Oxford Circus.” A sentimental ballad, the lo-fi single is a cathartic piece finding the LA-based artist exploring vulnerability and yearning for affection. She draws listeners in with a somber, yet melodic serenade displaying sultry vocals and poignant emotion as she ruminates on long-distance love.
“This is the first song I’ve ever released that I played guitar on, so that’s special to me. This song came together so naturally in the studio that we didn’t even add anything after the session- just touched up the mix,” she shares in regard to the record. “It came together in about 3 hours from scratch. Start to finish. I recorded it in Brixton and it was amazing to be able to capture the atmosphere while I was there. I love London and I can’t wait to go back.”
“Oxford Circus,” is a reminiscent ode that highlights Frex’s fragile harmonies, touching on faded memories in Oxford, London. It serves as a follow-up to the singer’s maxi-single “mixed feelings,” which was released earlier this year. Stream the record below.
