Continuing his meteoric rise to acclaim, Florida’s FCG Heem calls on fellow music polymath Hotboii for their latest collaborative effort aptly titled “Headlock.” Directed by Day Dream Visuals, the accompanying music video opens with the pair flexing their jewels and melodic prowess.
The track’s frenetic production, by Lino Tarantino, matches FCG Heem’s own uncontainable energy. His buoyant bars practically collide with the hard-hitting and hypnotic hook as he promises to “Put the game in a headlock.” Meanwhile, fellow Florida star Hotboii pulls up with a punchy and powerful cameo. Both musicians have undoubtedly had amazing runs this past year, with Heem coming off the heels of surefire bangers such as “Environment” and “Shallow Side Baby.”
The Florida rapper hasn’t a full-length since last year’s fan-favorite Neighborhood Poetry, although this new record signals more music to come in the future. Watch “Headlock” below.
