Premiering on January 9th, the highly-awaited first episode of Euphoria Season 2 finally hit HBO Max and quickly broke the internet. So much to the point that the series broke the streaming platform’s viewer record since its launch in May 2021, gaining just over 2.4 million views.
The series follows Rue, a drug addict fresh from rehab with no plans to stay clean, played by Zendaya. Other cast members include Hunter Schafer, Dominic Fike, Alexa Demie, Sydney Sweeney, and several more. This season premiered with a viewership that is nine times higher than Season 1 Episode 1 that was released in June 2019. Several fans awaiting the sophomore season also revisited the first installment, with eight episodes of Season 1 taking the top 10 spots on HBO Max.
The second season of Euphoria arrives after the two special episodes that aired in December 2020 and January 2021. With the first episode kicking things off with a bang, there’s no doubt that the series will continue to grow in audience.
