GRAMMY-winning singer-songwriter Ella Mai is back with her latest single “DFMU.” The song arrives alongside an accompanying music video, set to drop on January 28 at 12 PM EST.
“DFMU” is Ella Mai’s first official release in a bit over a year, arriving after 2020’s “Not Another Love Song,” which also happened to be her only solo record of that year. Prior to that, the singer’s self-titled debut album dropped along with features from Chris Brown, H.E.R., and John Legend. Since the release of the full-length project, Ella has done a number of high-profile features with Wizkid’s 2020 song “Piece Of Me” being the latest.
“Don’t fuck me up, don’t let me down / You know I wanna be around,” she croons on the chorus. Hopefully, “DFMU” signifies a new era for the 10 Summers artist as she prepares for the release of her sophomore album, with its title still unannounced. In the meantime, listen to the new single below.
