Rapper Day Sulan‘s new Crazy Girls EP follows a string of critically acclaimed releases this year. Released today, the project arrives after months of anticipation.
The EP has seven songs that showcase Day Sulan at her most engaging and assured. Her sharp wit is immediately apparent in “Stop Playin,” the project’s opening cut. In spite of the brash lyrics, she draws on her R&B background on the smooth and seductive “Slide-In” which also features YG. Alongside the founder of 4Hunnid Records and a multiplatinum Los Angeles rap sensation, she opens with a series of melodious lines before unleashing a torrent of brash lyrics.
As the last track, “Say It’s Over” is an immediate classic and a fitting conclusion to the project. Underneath her sweet singing, finger-snaps, breezy guitar, and a deep bass line mumble. The EP’s pre-release songs, including “Pro” and “Gravity,” have propelled it to millions of streams.
