Singer-songwriter Cocoa Sarai has unveiled her new single, the woman empowerment anthem “No Apologies,” this past weekend.
Produced by Grammy-winning producers Focus, and Dem Jointz, “No Apologies” is an uptempo, funk, and soul-laden dance jam with a bold lyrical twist. Cocoa doesn’t pull any punches when telling a love interest what she wants and what she needs. “Women don’t have to be one thing—men are never asked to be one thing—and we’re not apologizing for it,” Cocoa announces boldly.
The track follows the release of “Strange Fame,” a single that was created in response to police brutality suffered by Cocoa’s brother in the aftermath of the George Floyd protests. “This is not another protest song, it’s a call to action,” says Cocoa.
“No Apologies” sees Cocoa Sarai exuding confidence and positive energy, an attitude she hopes this track will instill in women everywhere. Check the single below.
