City Girls

One of the hottest female rap duos in rap right now, City Girls, have returned with their new and eagerly-awaited song aptly titled “Twerkulator.” The club-ready standalone single unapologetically showcases their unmatched confidence and a wily sense of humor over a punchy sample of the 80’s classic “Planet Rock” by Afrika Bambaataa & The Soulsonic Force.

For the last several months, a snippet of “Twerkulator” has seen a massive run on TikTok with over 1.2M+ Creates and 750 Million Views on the platform. Now, with the official release of the track available to stream, City Girls are primed and in serious contention for another song of the summer.

Earlier this week, up-and-coming Atlanta rapper T-Hood had accused the duo of stealing his song “Perculator,” which dropped back in July 2020 despite it being leaked some months ago. Although, a rep that previously worked with the duo explained that they had been sitting on the song for over a year and some change. It was initially slated to appear on their sophomore studio album, City On Lock. Stream the song above.

Elsewhere in music news, Lil Poppa shares his new song “Halo.”
