Indie-pop phenomenon Chloe Moriondo has announced her new album SUCKERPUNCH, slated to release on October 7. The project, which Moriondo created with the help of producers and co-writers like Oscar Scheller, David Pramik, and Teddy Geiger, ushers in a new era for the artist and represents a significant improvement over her previous work, 2021’s Blood Bunny.

The announcement is accompanied by the release of the album’s first track, “Fruity,” a sticky-sweet summer hymn ready for enthusiastic shouting along. The music video, directed by Raoul Gonzo, sees Chloe turning a boring workplace into a “super fruity” celebration as she promotes soda pop while outfitted in a lime green outfit and a pink complexion. The three-minute cut continues the musician’s awe-inspiring creative direction whilst displaying her vocal prowess.

“‘Fruity’ and this album in general are going to be a slap in the fucking face!! I liked the idea of naming the album for something that means an unexpected hit—something you never saw coming,” Chloe says. “It means the world to me to have the creative means to explore different shiny sounds and work with people I love so dearly on a project that is so new and exciting for me.”

To promote the album, Chloe will embark on the “SUCKERPUNCH” tour in October, a headlining run throughout the United States that will include backing from Dreamer Isioma. The five-week tour begins on October 12 in Columbus, OH, and includes dates at The Regent in Los Angeles on October 26, Irving Plaza in New York City on November 10, and The Majestic in Detroit, MI, on November 19. Additionally, fans alike can catch Chloe at the Firefly Festival in Denmark later this year—purchase tickets here.

Chloe Moriondo’s forthcoming album is slated to debut on October 7th, but in the meantime, watch the “Fruity” music video below.
