Months removed from his major-label debut album, BIG30 releases his first bit of new this year with the hard-hitting record “Protest.” Accompanied by a music video, the two-minute cut is a dynamic blend of mixing percussive flows and 30’s vivid recollections of life. Throughout the song, the Memphis rapper pays tribute to frequent collaborator and incarcerated musician Pooh Shiesty, who’s currently facing federal gun charges.

Last year, Big30 shared his first full-length project King of Killbranch, which was released last Fall. The project, which spans 15 songs, boasts features from Yo Gotti, Moneybagg Yo, Lil Durk, Future, and plenty more. Songs like “Allegations” and “Shots Out The Vette” propelled into popularity as fan favorites. Prior to the project release, he kicked off 2021 with a celebrated feature on Pooh Shiesty’s RIAA Gold-certified “Neighbors,” which peaked at #51 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Elsewhere, the Memphis newcomer also did a handful of features, including Nardo Wick’s “Poppin,” Moneybagg Yo’s “GO!,” and Zaytoven’s “Taliban” to name a few. With more music slated to drop later this year, watch “Protest” below in the meantime.
