Budapest-born R&B singer-songwriter Babé Sila unveils her single “Fresh Pinks.” The upbeat groove of the melody—rounded off by subtle horns and steady guitar riffs—reflects the hopeful nature of the lyrics, in which Sila reminisces about the beauty of a former relationship.
Speaking on the record, Sila shares, “I wrote ‘Fresh Pnks’ about a bygone love and the ability to see the beauty in love that didn’t work out.” She continues, “The title ‘Fresh Pinks’ refers to the rose metaphor I sing in the song. Even though flowers wilt and lose their color, I like to remember them by their vibrant colors, and that is how I chose my faded romance to live in my heart.”
“Fresh Pinks” marks Babé Sila’s first official record of the year, serving as a follow-up to her critically-acclaimed single “Rainbow,” which was released in 2021. Prior to that, she caught the eyes and ears of many with 2020’s Plum, a 6-track compilation of some of her most vulnerable and R&B-tinged records. Her new song drifts between her past relationship and her present life, balancing out perfectly.
