Pop newcomer Ava Lily releases her new single “Sad Party,” exploring her relationship with alcohol and the effects that drinking has on her life and past relations. Accompanied by a visual effort, the song is drenched in echoes and Lily’s fizzing vocal lines, and despite the overt darkness in the lyrics, the singer ensures that there’s a strident sense of optimism in her music
“I felt like anything beautiful I touched I ruined. My relationship was falling apart. There’s a strange comfort in being deeply alone, in your room, to wallow in your own self-pity party”, Lily shares while expanding on the song.
“Sad Party” follows the release of “Tight Fit,” which Ava Lily unveiled back in April. Prior to that, the songstress took a brief hiatus upon the release of her 2020 EP, Higher Love. Now, welcoming a new chapter in her career and writing for some of music’s most notable names, Ava proves herself to be a formidable force to keep an eye on in the coming years.
