R&B singer-songwriter Amaal enlists Los Angeles-based music polymath Syd for their new sensual berceuse, “Lullaby.” As her first offering of the year, the pair bare it all when it comes to their love for another person with the Canadian singer’s delicate vocals and Syd’s soothing detail blending together seamlessly.
“Lullaby” serves as the singer’s first official single since the release of widely acclaimed sophomore EP, Milly. The 7-song project is titled after the nickname she adopted when she began to visit the world outside of her close-knit community. Among several seductive and vulnerable cuts from the release, songs like “Too Good” and “Honey” welcomed a new chapter in her artistry while other cuts explore themes of sexual liberation, self-love, and empowerment.
Amaal’s latest release is a continuation of the singer showcasing her personal evolution, laying the groundwork for who she is—wants, desires, and all. Listen to “Lullaby” below.
