23-year-old songstress Abby Jasmine unveils her latest music video for “SOS,” the lead single from her recently-released EP, I Hate You 2. Directed by Whipalo (Saweetie, Gunna, Offset), the cinematic visual follows Abby through an almost dream-like setup filled with bright colors and glimmering landscapes as she sings the hazy and harmonic track.
“When I wrote the song, I had this visual of me drowning,” she states about the song. She says she applied the sinking effect to drowning in feelings, addictions, and relationships. This idea inspired a dreamy song that sounds like its title. “I know I got something to say with you; I get tired of saving you,” Abby sings while checking a romantic partner on their behavior.
The melody and harmony in the chorus reflect Abby Jasmine’s heavy listening diet of early 2000s R&B. Watch “SOS” below and stay tuned as the songstress continues to be a favorite loved amongst many in the R&B community.
Elsewhere in music, we got to interview Toronto singer Jon Vinyl for his new album!
