5mc2 Is The Rising Streetwear Label You Need To Know

5mc2, an emerging contemporary streetwear label based in southern Italy, has the formula for success. Designed in England, cut and sewn garments are the star player amid a handful of other accessories and functional items in the vault. Naturally, the brains behind the brand are a collective of mad scientists with an artistic flair—Giovanni Rubino, Mattia Paniko, Carmine Lella, and Simone Marroni.

“Our goal is to create a brand which combines creativity and freedom of expression through various forms of art and craftsmanship,” the brand emphasizes. “We believe that our brand is more than just creating high-quality garments, each piece has individuality.”

Towards the tail-end of 2021, 5mc2 dropped a pair of hoodies dubbed the Comet Hoodie and Lover Hoodie. The former boasts a chocolate silhouette with white puffy screen print while the latter is almost the complete opposite, with a heart instead of star shape underneath the branding. Elsewhere, the brand has introduced a range of stainless steel necklaces in three distinct pendants: Atom, Lover, and Comet. The necklaces are held together by glass-coated pearls joined by 5mc2 branding on the clasp. Prior to that, the streetwear label put out handmade rugs in grey and black, workwear, a range of key chains, and rolling papers amongst other drops.

Keeping the momentum going, the brand have already prepared their first official drop of 2022 with their Monday Dreamers Hoodie. By definition, a Monday dreamer is an ambitious person who stands in awe of Monday, seeing it as a starting line for doers with countless possibilities to follow throughout the week. It’s a term that is very fitting for the dream team behind the brand. As streetwear culture and contemporary fashion continue to expand in Italy, 5mc2 finds itself at the forefront of unique ideas brought to life in the form of comfort and versatility.
